The STEP'n'SIT learning tower brings your toddler up to counter height so they can wash their hands, stir the bowl and see what you are doing, instead of pulling at your leg while you cook.

Fold it down and it becomes a table and chair. That is the part that earns its place in a small kitchen: one piece of furniture doing two jobs, rather than a tower in the corner and a separate table you trip over. Choose your colour and clasp finish to suit your kitchen, and add support legs if you have a particularly determined climber.

15mm birch plywood, certified to hold 50kg, and tested to three separate European furniture standards. Winner of the German Design Award 2026 and the Junior Design Award 2025.

Why are learning towers so expensive?
Most of the cost sits in making something a toddler can lean on without it tipping. The STEP'n'SIT is 15mm birch plywood, rated to 50kg and tested to three separate European furniture standards. It also converts into a table and chair, so you are buying two pieces of furniture rather than one. Cheaper towers exist and some are perfectly good, but they tend to be lighter, narrower at the base and single purpose.

What is the safest learning tower?
Look for a rail on all four sides, a wide base, a tested weight rating and certifications you can actually check. The STEP'n'SIT is certified to EN 17191 for children's seating, EN 14183 for step stools and EN 12520 for furniture strength and durability, and it meets safety standards in the UK, EU, US, Canada and Korea.

What age is best for a learning tower?
Eighteen months for the STEP'n'SIT, once your child is walking confidently and can climb the first step unaided. Most families use it until around four or five.

Can a one year old use it?
Not this one. The rated age is eighteen months.

What can I use instead of a learning tower?
A dining chair pushed against the counter is the usual answer, and it is the reason most parents end up buying a tower. There is nothing behind a child on a chair.

How does it convert to a table?
Fold the tower down and it becomes a low table with an attached chair. It takes a few seconds and no tools.

Do I need the support legs?
Not for most children. They widen the footprint and are worth adding if your toddler is particularly active or your floor is uneven.

Bought once, not replaced twice

The cheap towers get outgrown, wobble, or end up in a garage. These adjust, convert and fold, and they hold 50kg. Most families use one piece for four years or more.
