How does Yoto work?
Insert a Yoto card into your Yoto Player or Yoto Mini and the audio begins playing immediately. Remove the card and the audio stops. Use the right dial to skip between tracks and the left dial to adjust volume. No apps, no screens, and no buttons for children to navigate: the card is the control.
Do I need WiFi to use Yoto?
WiFi is only needed to download new card content via the Yoto app. Once downloaded, everything plays offline. The Yoto Player stores up to 600 hours of content and the Yoto Mini stores up to 500 hours.
Are all Yoto cards compatible with all Yoto players?
Yes, all Yoto cards work with the Yoto Player (all generations) and the Yoto Mini. Accessories such as Adventure Jackets and travel cases are player-specific, so always check the product description for compatibility before purchasing.
What age is Yoto suitable for?
Yoto players are suitable from age 3 and up under adult supervision, and the card library covers everything from baby and toddler content through to audiobooks and music for older children and teenagers. Many families use Yoto well into secondary school age.
Is Yoto better than Tonies?
Both are excellent screen-free audio players. Yoto uses flat cards rather than character figures, which makes storage simpler and cards more affordable. The Yoto Player also includes a nightlight, room thermometer, and ok-to-wake clock. The best choice depends on which content library suits your child, as both have strong catalogues.
Is Yoto safe for children?
Yes. Yoto has no screen, no microphone, no camera, and no adverts. All card content is pre-approved and child-safe. Volume is limited to protect hearing, and children are in full control of what they listen to.
Can Yoto connect to Bluetooth headphones?
Yes, both the Yoto Player and Yoto Mini support Bluetooth headphones. Yoto's own wireless headphones are designed specifically for the players, but any standard Bluetooth headphones will work.
Can Yoto cards be shared between players?
Yes, a Yoto card can be moved between any Yoto Player or Yoto Mini and will play on all of them.
